TL;DR
Xiaomi Buds 6 are the latest HARMAN-tuned wireless earbuds designed for maximum comfort. If you dislike the "plugged" feeling of rubber ear tips, these open-design buds are a game-changer, weighing just 4.4g for effortless all-day wear. They offer seamless compatibility with both Android and iPhone, even including Apple Find My support—a rare and valuable feature for iOS users. With a sleek design available in four stylish colors and an intuitive companion app for full customization, these earbuds prioritize wearable longevity and user-friendly tech. Xiaomi Buds 6 are a pair of wireless earbuds developed in collaboration with HARMAN and are aimed at users who want a pair of comfortable and feature-rich headphones for both Android and iPhone. During the test period, I have primarily used them with an iPhone, which worked without any issues.
One feature worth highlighting for iPhone users is the support for Apple Find My. For someone who, like me, occasionally manages to misplace their gadgets, this can be a highly appreciated feature.

Comfort and design
Personally, I am not particularly fond of earbuds with rubber tips because I have never really been comfortable with the feeling of having them in my ears. Therefore, the Xiaomi Buds 6 suit me very well. The open design makes them comfortable to wear for long periods, while also feeling easier to clean compared to models with silicone tips.
Each earbud weighs only 4.4 grams, contributing to the low weight and high comfort. Xiaomi Buds 6 are also available in four colors: Nebula Purple, Graphite Black, Pearl White (the test unit) and Titan Grey.

Sound quality
Xiaomi Buds 6 offer high-resolution audio with support for 24-bit/48 kHz and a transmission rate of up to 2.1 Mbps. The frequency range is specified as 16–40 kHz, which sounds impressive on paper.
In practice, the sound quality is perfectly acceptable, but I would have liked a bit more punch and energy in the soundstage, especially when listening to music. The sound is clean and balanced, but lacks that little something extra that really makes the music come alive.

Noise cancellation and call quality
The earbuds are equipped with active noise cancellation, but here they don’t quite reach the level of the best competitors on the market. Compared to, for example, JBL Live Flex 3, I find the noise cancellation to be somewhat weaker and not as effective in noisy environments.
Xiaomi states that the Buds 6 have wind noise reduction that handles wind speeds up to 12 m/s. During my tests, a clear difference was still noticeable between speaking in calm environments and being out in the city. The voice still comes through, but the quality degrades slightly when it’s windy. At the same time, this is a common issue even with many other wireless headphones.
On the other hand, the Buds 6 work very well for long phone calls thanks to the open and comfortable design. For someone like me who prefers earbuds without rubber tips, they are a nice alternative for everyday use.

Features and battery life
Xiaomi Buds 6 offer most of the features you expect in this price range. Via touch controls on the earbuds, you can, among other things:
- Answer and end calls
- Change tracks
- Adjust the volume
- Activate or turn off noise cancellation
Through the Xiaomi Earbuds app, you get access to additional settings where you can, among other things, adjust the noise cancellation, check battery status, and customize various features.
The battery life is up to 6 hours per charge, and together with the charging case, you get a total of up to 35 hours of use before it’s time to look for a charger. Included in the package is also a USB-C cable for charging.

Summary
Xiaomi Buds 6 are a pair of comfortable and easy-to-use earbuds that are particularly well-suited for users who do not like traditional in-ear models with rubber tips. They work seamlessly with both Android and iPhone, offer good battery life, and have several smart features, including support for Apple Find My.
The sound quality is good but not fantastic, and the noise cancellation doesn’t quite reach the level of some competitors. However, the high comfort and open design compensate for some of these weaknesses, especially for those who frequently use the headphones for phone calls or during long periods.
