Opening the lid allows placement of a gadget (provided it is not excessively thick), initiating a UV light cycle lasting just under five minutes to disinfect the object’s surfaces. Small pins are present to elevate items like phone handsets, ensuring comprehensive light exposure. This product is primarily intended for smartphones and their cases, as these devices accumulate a significant amount of bacteria through constant handling. Studies suggest smartphones can harbor between 17,000 and 25,000 bacteria per square inch, potentially making them significantly dirtier than a toilet seat. Beyond smartphones, the UV Sanitizer can also be used to disinfect other non-porous items frequently worn or handled, such as watches, rings, activity trackers, and necklaces.

Lacking laboratory facilities to independently verify bacterial reduction, we must rely on the manufacturer’s claims. If the stated 99.99% bacterial elimination rate is accurate, the UV Sanitizer represents a valuable tool for maintaining hygiene. Availability can be found at major electronics retailers.

The UV Sanitizer does not address grease, grime, or fingerprints. This is where the Disinfecting Wipes become relevant. A ten-pack of these wipes, saturated with 70% isopropyl alcohol, retails for 49-129 SEK. They effectively clean and disinfect surfaces, proving useful for removing residue from gadgets. While the per-wipe cost may seem high at the upper price range, they offer good value when purchased at the lower end.
