TL;DR
The Levoit Core 300S Pro Smart is a compact powerhouse designed to transform the air quality in your home. Perfect for medium-sized rooms, this smart purifier features a high-performance H13 HEPA filter that effectively captures dust, pollen, and allergens—making it a lifesaver for children with asthma. Our hands-on testing highlighted its whisper-quiet sleep mode and responsive sensors that automatically adjust to air quality changes. While the VeSync app provides excellent remote monitoring and a much-needed child lock, it excels most in delivering a noticeably cleaner environment and a better night's rest. Though it’s best suited for contained spaces rather than open-concept floors, its efficiency and affordability make it a top contender for health-conscious families. Every home benefits from cleaner air, especially when there are children with sensitive airways. For a few weeks, the Levoit Core 300S Pro Smart has been put to work in my home, placed in the room where my child with cold-induced asthma sleeps. The idea was to see if a compact and smart air purifier can actually make a difference in everyday life, both for air quality and for a good night’s sleep.
The last time we tested an air purifier, it was the Shark NeverChange, a significantly larger and more long-lasting model. This time, we wanted to see how a more compact and smart air purifier handles everyday life, and therefore the Levoit Core 300S Pro Smart moved into the child’s room.

First Impressions
The first thing you notice is how discreet and easy to place the air purifier is. It blends into the room without taking over and is small enough to stand in a corner or on a dresser without feeling bulky. When it is started, you quickly notice that the sensor reacts immediately to changes in the air. During cooking, when the door is opened to pollen-rich air, or when someone stirs up dust in the room, the fan increases automatically. The VeSync app is clear and easy to understand, and it’s convenient to be able to monitor the air quality even when you’re not at home.

Technical Specifications
Levoit Core 300S Pro Smart uses a three-stage filtration system consisting of a pre-filter, an H13 HEPA filter, and an activated carbon filter. Together, they capture everything from dust and pollen to odor molecules and small particles that often trigger asthmatic symptoms. It is intended for medium-sized rooms and can operate at a noise level as low as 24-26 decibels in sleep mode, making it very quiet. The built-in air quality sensor measures particle levels in real-time and automatically adjusts the fan speed. Via the VeSync app, you can monitor the air quality, schedule operation, and control the device remotely. A much-appreciated feature for me is also the screen lock, which means the device can only be controlled via the app. This is perfect when little curious fingers want to fiddle with everything that lights up, but you want the air purifier to continue working undisturbed.

The Good Things
What impresses most is how quiet the air purifier is in sleep mode. In a child’s room, it is crucial that an air purifier does not disturb sleep, and here it delivers very well. The filtration is effective, especially regarding pollen and dust, which is noticeable by how much cleaner the air feels after just an hour. For children with asthma or allergies, it can make a big difference, and it was clearly noticeable with my son. He usually coughs a lot at night and often wakes up because his airways feel irritated, but with the air purifier running, the nights became significantly calmer. The coughing decreased, sleep was less disturbed, and in the morning, he wasn’t nearly as congested as before.
The smart features are also a big plus. Being able to let the device take care of itself in auto mode means you don’t have to think about it, and the child lock is invaluable when little curious fingers want to fiddle with everything that lights up. It allows you to control everything via the app and be sure that the settings remain as they should. Additionally, it is energy-efficient and inexpensive to run, meaning it can easily be on for most of the day. After just a few days, you could also see that the filter had captured a lot of dust, confirming that it actually does a concrete job in the room.

The Less Good Things
There are, of course, limitations. Core 300S Pro Smart is not built for very large open floor plans. It performs best in medium-sized rooms, and in areas larger than that, it begins to lose efficiency. Another thing that detracts from the overall impression is the handling of filter replacements. The filter itself is easy to change, but if you want to order a new one directly via the app, that function does not work in Sweden because replacement filters are not available via the supplier the app refers to. You can, of course, Google a retailer that sells the correct filter, but it would have been much smoother if this had been implemented directly in the app. For a product that is otherwise so smart and user-friendly, it feels like an unnecessary oversight.
Summary
Levoit Core 300S Pro Smart is a very good air purifier for medium-sized rooms, and it does a particularly good job in children’s rooms where quiet operation and effective filtration are important. It is easy to use, smart in its function, and powerful enough to handle the most common particles that affect children with asthma or allergies. For those who want to improve air quality without spending a fortune, the Core 300S Pro Smart is a safe and affordable choice that delivers more than you might think based on its size.
