I really like a wide variety of games, and one genre that has always been a favorite is racing games. However, I have never liked realistic racing games; my favorites are Wreckfest, Forza Horizon and the Burnout games. There, it’s all about speed and excitement, and while the cars don’t always move perfectly realistically, it’s more fun to play because they don’t spin out into the weeds as soon as I make the slightest mistake.

First impressions of the Movi Gaming Racing Wheel
I have tested a whole bunch of racing wheels before, but I have never reviewed one. So when this one showed up, I was curious, as it had been a number of years since I last drove with a wheel. How would it be this time?
Movi Gaming Racing Wheel from GXTrust comes in a fairly large box, and when I lift the unit out, I am impressed by how realistic the wheel feels. It has a rubberized surface and everything has a significant weight.
Mounting and construction
In the box are two clamps so you can screw the wheel to the table and get it really stable. The wheel can be turned half a rotation in either direction, which is very good for greater variety, and there is a substantial spring inside that snaps back and provides a realistic feel.
The wheel also has paddles and a gear shifter on the right side. On the left side, there are all the other buttons you might need, so in other words, you don’t need to have a keyboard or a controller at hand to navigate the menus.

PC Testing – a good start but issues with the pedals
I start by connecting it to my PC and playing some Wreckfest 2. It connects without any problems. Everything works exactly as it should and the wheel is responsive, as are the pedals.
Now, however, some problems are starting to emerge. For one, the pedals are quite high, which makes it difficult to get a comfortable driving position. I solved it by placing two books under my feet so I could press the pedals like in a car.
Another problem is that the pedals slide around on the floor far too easily. I solved it with a rubberized mat, and then they stayed in place. It is, however, strange that the designers of the product didn’t consider how much the pedals actually move around when you use them. The included plate helps, but it still slides.
Xbox Series X Testing – smooth connection and fun gameplay feel
The next test is connecting it to the Xbox Series X. This time, you also need to connect the controller to the wheel for the Xbox to recognize it. Once this is done, everything works as it should, and it’s really fun to drive Forza Horizon with a wheel.

You can constantly program what you want the buttons to do. If you want to use manual transmission, you can shift with the gear shifter or the paddles. Or you can do as I did and use the reverse gear to rewind if you drive incorrectly.
PlayStation Testing – a clear limitation
When I then went to test the Movi Gaming Racing Wheel on the Playstation 5, things came to a grinding halt, because it is not compatible with the “5”. It works with the Playstation 4, but this unfortunately dates the product quite a bit. It is strange that it does not work with both next-gen consoles.
Something else that was also surprising is that there is no force feedback in the wheel, but only a rather weak vibration. It would have been a completely different experience if you could feel what happens on the screen in the wheel, just as you do in the controller.
In summary, the Movi Gaming Racing Wheel from GXTrust is well-made and works fine for what it was developed for. What is a shame is that the pedals are not ergonomic and that it does not work with the Playstation 5. Therefore, the rating doesn’t quite reach a recommendation.
So, how was it for me to play racing games with a wheel again? Well, it was better than before because the wheel could be turned more, but in the end, I am still faster and more skilled with a controller. The wheel becomes more of a fun novelty than a practical alternative.
