I will detail the technical differences between the two models later in this review.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Upon unboxing the <em>RS3 Mini<\/em>, its small size and streamlined design are immediately apparent. Lacking an <em>RS3<\/em> for direct comparison, I placed it alongside the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.senses.se\/en\/review-feiyutech-ak4500-gimbal\/\"><strong>FeiyuTech<\/strong> <strong>AK4500<\/strong><\/a> gimbal, a model representing a more typical size.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.senses.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/img-3320.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.senses.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/img-3320-1000x1186.jpg\" alt=\"Foto: Senses.se - DJI RS3 Mini - Comparison.\" class=\"wp-image-64308\" width=\"780\" height=\"925\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Photo: Senses.se<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The size disparity is considerable. While the <em>DJI RS3 Mini<\/em> naturally cannot accommodate cameras as large as those handled by the AK4500, it readily supports cameras weighing up to two kilograms. The <em>RS3 Mini<\/em> is specifically engineered for mirrorless system cameras, and offers connectivity for most major brands, enabling remote operation of recording and other functions, eliminating the need to directly manipulate the camera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I began by connecting my <strong>Canon 750D<\/strong>, which, while not a mirrorless system camera, falls well within the weight limit and performed adequately. DJI provides convenient tutorials for correctly balancing your camera. A feature I particularly appreciate in the <em>DJI RS3 Mini<\/em> is its ability to detect and alert the user if any axis is improperly balanced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.senses.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/img-3316.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.senses.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/img-3316-1000x1521.jpg\" alt=\"Foto: Senses.se - DJI RS3 Mini - Close-up display.\" class=\"wp-image-64306\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Photo: Senses.se<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is a highly useful function, mitigating potential damage to the gimbal&#8217;s servos caused by operation with an unbalanced load. With the <em>DJI RS3 Mini<\/em> properly configured, I took it to a scheduled recording session in a confined sound studio, where its compact size proved advantageous. The resulting footage is presented below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"One More Time &amp; K\u00e4rleksk\u00f6ren - K\u00e4rleken\" width=\"1170\" height=\"658\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mx44naFjTwQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For users unfamiliar with gimbals, the various settings can initially seem complex. Selecting the appropriate &#8220;follow&#8221; mode on the <em>DJI RS3 Mini<\/em> is crucial for achieving the desired results and avoiding unintended counteractions. These settings are easily adjustable via the display. The <em>DJI RS3 Mini<\/em> weighs just 800 grams, with the camera adding approximately another kilogram. Despite its light weight, the internal technology is not compromised. Its performance is smooth, quiet, and stable, mirroring that of larger models. The primary distinctions between the <em>RS3 Mini<\/em> and the original <em>RS3<\/em> are the 200-gram weight difference and the maximum camera weight capacity: three kilograms for the RS3 versus two for the Mini. The <em>RS3 Mini<\/em> also offers a slightly reduced battery life of ten hours, compared to the twelve hours provided by the larger <em>RS3<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <em>RS3 Mini<\/em> also incorporates a selfie mode and the capability to mount the camera vertically, making it well-suited for social media platforms where vertical video is prevalent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.senses.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/img-3322.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.senses.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/img-3322-1000x1118.jpg\" alt=\"Foto: Senses.se - DJI RS3 Mini - Setting. \" class=\"wp-image-64310\" width=\"785\" height=\"878\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Photo: Senses.se<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The only drawbacks of the RS3 Mini from DJI are, in my opinion, minor. Firstly, a slight protrusion on the camera mounting plate can hinder optimal compatibility with certain cameras. While intended to prevent the camera from sliding forward, its removal would enhance versatility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.senses.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/img-3318.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.senses.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/img-3318-1000x562.jpg\" alt=\"Foto: Senses.se - DJI RS3 Mini - Annoying edge.\" class=\"wp-image-64307\" width=\"780\" height=\"438\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Photo: Senses.se<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Secondly, the inclusion of a carrying case or similar accessory would be beneficial for transportation. These are minor points, but considering the overall quality of the product, they warrant consideration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In conclusion, the <em>RS3 Mini<\/em> from <em>DJI<\/em> is highly recommended.
