This installment takes us to a mining village in <strong>Northern Qu\u00e9bec<\/strong> in 1970. An enigmatic and unnatural fog has enveloped the region, concealing both allies and adversaries. As Carl investigates, he uncovers unsettling discoveries: frozen corpses posed as if flash-frozen. Your task is to explore the area, gather clues, and unravel the mysteries surrounding the fog and the disturbing events plaguing this place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.senses.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/kona-screenshot01.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.senses.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/kona-screenshot01-1000x562.jpg\" alt=\"Foto: \u00a92023\u00a0\u2013 Ravenscourt - Kona II: Brume - Dogs!\" class=\"wp-image-66111\" style=\"aspect-ratio:1.7793594306049823;width:781px;height:auto\"\/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Foto: \u00a92023&nbsp;\u2013 Ravenscourt<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Having not played the original <strong>Kona<\/strong> (released in 2016), I cannot offer a direct comparison between the two titles. This review will therefore focus on my experience with <em>Kona II: Brume<\/em> as a standalone game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.senses.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/kona-screenshot02.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.senses.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/kona-screenshot02-1000x560.jpg\" alt=\"Foto: \u00a92023\u00a0\u2013 Ravenscourt - Kona II: Brume - The office\" class=\"wp-image-66112\"\/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Foto: \u00a92023&nbsp;\u2013 Ravenscourt<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Kona II: Brume<\/em> establishes a compelling atmosphere from the outset, quickly conveying a sense of unease. The game mechanics, including photography for journal entries and clue collection, are intuitive. While weapons are available, ammunition is scarce, encouraging strategic resource management. Puzzles are integrated into the environment, with solutions often found nearby or through logical deduction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.senses.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/kona-screenshot03.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.senses.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/kona-screenshot03-1000x566.jpg\" alt=\"Foto: \u00a92023\u00a0\u2013 Ravenscourt - Kona II: Brume - the mansion\" class=\"wp-image-66113\"\/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Foto: \u00a92023&nbsp;\u2013 Ravenscourt<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Kona II: Brume<\/em> evokes a similar feeling to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/aE_JSVsrM2Y?si=SDWeXsfJdecH72no\">Shivers<\/a><\/strong>, released in 1995. The common threads include a supernatural mystery, significant time spent in a large mansion, and the aftermath of a tragic event. The game&#8217;s strongest aspects are its sense of mystery and its effective sound design, which maintains a constant level of suspense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.senses.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/kona-screenshot05.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.senses.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/kona-screenshot05-1000x559.jpg\" alt=\"Foto: \u00a92023\u00a0\u2013 Ravenscourt - Kona II: Brume - The notebook\" class=\"wp-image-66115\"\/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Foto: \u00a92023&nbsp;\u2013 Ravenscourt<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A significant drawback of <em>Kona II: Brume<\/em> is the restricted jumping mechanic. While jumping is possible outdoors, it is disabled indoors. This limitation can be frustrating, as minor obstacles block progress, forcing unnecessary detours. This design choice feels like an oversight, diminishing the player experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Navigating the environment, especially within the larger buildings, can also be challenging. The similarity of the corridors often led to disorientation, requiring extensive backtracking before discovering previously unnoticed paths. This lack of clear direction can detract from the overall experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.senses.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/kona-screenshot04.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.senses.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/kona-screenshot04-1000x561.jpg\" alt=\"Foto: \u00a92023\u00a0\u2013 Ravenscourt - Kona II: Brume - The mystery\" class=\"wp-image-66114\"\/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Foto: \u00a92023&nbsp;\u2013 Ravenscourt<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In conclusion, <em>Kona II: Brume<\/em> is a commendable mystery game that encourages exploration and problem-solving. The engaging narrative and immersive atmosphere are compelling. However, the limitations on jumping and the potential for navigational confusion slightly detract from the overall rating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>A review code for this title was provided by <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ravenscourt.games\/en-GB\/games\/konaII\">Plaion<\/a><\/strong>.
