This market is highly competitive, with HyperX<\/a><\/strong> and Steelseries<\/a><\/strong> holding strong positions. Notably, I have not previously tested Razer gaming headsets, despite my extensive history with gaming predating Razer’s market entry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before proceeding, it’s important to address a potentially confusing aspect: the existence of two<\/em> similarly named and visually near-identical headset versions. The primary differentiator, the “2023” designation (when present), can be easily overlooked, leading to potential consumer confusion regarding specific retailer offerings. Identifying the Bluetooth logo on the product packaging offers a clear distinction. Razer could have implemented a more intuitive naming convention to improve clarity for consumers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2023 version represents an upgrade from the original V2 Pro released in 2020. While the aesthetics remain largely consistent, key improvements include extended battery life (70 hours versus 24 hours), an enhanced microphone, and the addition of Bluetooth support and USB-C connectivity for faster charging (6 hours of use from a 15-minute charge).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As is typical with modern headsets, the lightweight design is immediately apparent. Weighing only 320 grams, the BlackShark V2 Pro scores favorably in terms of lightness. The overall build quality is excellent, conveying a premium feel. However, the yokes appear somewhat slender and potentially susceptible to damage from excessive force.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Initial impressions regarding fit are mixed. While the BlackShark V2 Pro offers a comfortable experience overall, the clamping force feels slightly excessive. This is subjective and dependent on individual preferences. The BlackShark V2 Pro offers wireless connectivity via the included 2.4GHz USB receiver or Bluetooth. Notably, the 3.5mm wired connector has been removed, precluding direct connection to PlayStation or Xbox controllers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The primary evaluation criterion is audio performance. After extensive gameplay sessions in Fornite<\/strong>, Assassins Creed Mirage<\/a><\/strong>, and Apex<\/strong>, the sound quality proved highly satisfactory, particularly in multiplayer environments. A minor drawback is the somewhat subdued bass response.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The microphone delivers excellent clarity. One area for improvement is the addition of a more prominent mute indicator, such as a red LED, to provide immediate visual confirmation of the microphone status. Bluetooth pairing proved seamless, and switching between PS5 and mobile devices was straightforward. However, simultaneous connections to multiple sources are not supported; users must manually switch between devices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In conclusion, the V2 Pro 2023 represents a significant upgrade, offering an impressive 70-hour battery life, a high-quality microphone, and Bluetooth connectivity. The price point (2400 SEK) is considerable. The only subjective reservation pertains to the fit, which warrants individual assessment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For users who deem the upgrades not commensurate with the price increase, the 2020 version is currently available at a promotional price of 1300 SEK from select retailers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
