It is hoped that this release marks the beginning of a trend, as numerous Swedish films would greatly benefit from this format.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.senses.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/pressbild-avgrunden-6507ff972b5b9.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.senses.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/pressbild-avgrunden-6507ff972b5b9-1000x413.jpg\" alt=\"Foto: \u00a92023 - SF Studios - Avgrunden - Intensiv scen i slutet. \" class=\"wp-image-65479\" style=\"width:785px;height:auto\"\/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Foto: \u00a92023 &#8211; SF Studios<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Revisiting <em>Avgrunden<\/em> proved to be an engaging experience. Familiarity with the plot allowed for closer attention to subtler details. The film employs a classically effective storytelling approach, maintaining a palpable tension throughout. A minor detail that initially detracted from the viewing experience was less noticeable upon second viewing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.senses.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/pressbild-avgrunden-6507ff9685d0a.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.senses.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/pressbild-avgrunden-6507ff9685d0a-1000x415.jpg\" alt=\"Foto: \u00a92023 - SF Studios - Avgrunden -  Tuva in action. \" class=\"wp-image-65480\" style=\"width:780px;height:auto\"\/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Foto: \u00a92023 &#8211; SF Studios<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Regrettably, this Ultra-HD release of <em>Avgrunden<\/em> omits two common and highly desirable features: <strong>Dolby Atmos<\/strong> and <strong>HDR<\/strong>. In the following clip, post-production producer <strong>Marcus Bj\u00f6rkman<\/strong> elucidates the rationale behind this decision. While his reasoning is understandable, the absence of these features does impact the overall viewing experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Avgrunden - Sveriges f\u00f6rsta UHD-utg\u00e5va\" width=\"1170\" height=\"658\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/FU6xU2acmxg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The visual presentation is characterized by high resolution, sharpness, and accurate color reproduction. Dark scenes within the mine exhibit commendable contrast between light and shadow, with no noticeable color bleeding. Audio is presented in <strong>5.1 DTS Master Audio<\/strong>. Although Bj\u00f6rkman provides justification for foregoing Atmos, a greater investment in sound design would have been beneficial. While the audio delivers impact during the film&#8217;s climax, it lacks the added dimension that a more sophisticated sound mix could provide. The surround sound experience also feels somewhat lacking at times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Perhaps the most disappointing aspect is the complete absence of supplementary material on this UHD edition. Behind-the-scenes content and insights into the film&#8217;s production would have significantly enhanced the release.
