Home security cameras for residential use is a market that has exploded in recent years. There is a plethora of different brands and features. I have tested a few different doorbells, such as Swannbuddy 4K<\/strong><\/a> and Arlos Video Doorbell 2K<\/strong><\/a>, as well as Arlos Essential Indoor Camera<\/strong><\/a>. Today’s test concerns Navo Care 1 Incam<\/strong> from Chinese Dreame<\/strong>, and this model has several features that Arlos version lacked. More on that further down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Design and mounting<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When I pick up the Navo Care 1 Incam<\/em> from the box, it feels solid and has a nice matte finish. Everything you need to mount the camera is included. You can choose to mount it on the ceiling, on the wall, or simply place it in a suitable spot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It comes with two cables that, unusually, are relatively long, which makes mounting smooth without immediately needing extension cords. However, the cable is not long enough to allow for ceiling mounting in all situations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Installation and features<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I download the app and scan the QR code. After a few simple instructions, I’m up and running. The camera can rotate 360 degrees,<\/strong> which means it covers the entire room. It has a Night Vision mode<\/strong> that still provides satisfactory quality. The image is sharp and clear even in the dark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The camera follows movement and maintains focus on what is moving in the frame. It can tilt up and down 95 degrees<\/strong>, making it difficult to avoid its field of vision. When not in use, it tilts the lens down to show that it is turned off\u2014a different solution than the physical shutter used by Arlo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The camera also has a built-in alarm and light if you want to deter intruders, and you can speak through it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Storage and subscriptions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A feature I have long requested is the ability to record to an internal memory card. The only camera I previously tested with this was Swannbuddy 4K. Therefore, it was pleasing that the Navo Care 1 Incam <\/em>also supports recording to an SD card. However, no card is included, so it must be purchased separately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you don’t have a card inserted, you cannot record anything locally. If you want to use the cloud service, it costs around 50 SEK<\/strong> per month or approximately 500 SEK<\/strong> per year. But you don’t need a subscription as long as you use an SD card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

App experience<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

You can control the camera via the app, but unfortunately, it is quite slow and not very responsive when you pan around manually. Often, if you want to stop at a certain point, the camera continues past it because you held the button a bit too long. A minor detail perhaps, but still somewhat annoying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In summary, the Navo Care 1 Incam<\/em> from Dreame<\/em> is an impressively well-made product considering the low price. I highly recommend it to anyone who needs a good and reliable indoor security camera without spending a fortune.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
