The H6PRO<\/strong> from Epos<\/strong> immediately conveys a sense of quality upon unboxing. The design is sleek and stylish, and the green and black color scheme of this particular version is quite appealing. The headband features a leather finish, complemented by soft, fabric-covered earcups.<\/p>\n

The H6PRO Open Acoustic Gaming Headset<\/strong>, as the name implies, is a streamlined headphone design. Aside from the detachable microphone arm with a removable cover, similar to the H3 Hybrid<\/strong><\/a>, there are few additional features. Notably absent is the secondary microphone present in the H3 Hybrid<\/em>; removing the mic arm disables all incoming sound. Raising the microphone arm conveniently mutes the microphone.<\/p>\n

Upon detaching the microphone, the absence of left\/right earcup indicators becomes apparent. This omission is unusual, even if the design offers some clues. Users should note that the microphone is positioned on the left<\/em> earcup, while the volume control resides on the right<\/em>.<\/p>\n

While the headphones appear comfortable, their on-head feel is less impressive. The earcups exert a noticeable pressure, and the seal around the ears is not as tight as other comparable headsets. Extended use can even lead to some discomfort, which is unexpected given the brand and price point.<\/p>\n

Epos has consistently excelled in audio performance, and the H6PRO<\/em> is no exception. The sound quality is on par with the GSP 600<\/a> reviewed previously. The bass response is deep and well-defined, avoiding any harshness, and the overall soundstage provides a balanced experience across the frequency spectrum.<\/p>\n

Testing commenced with the Nintendo Switch<\/strong>, playing Inside<\/strong><\/a>, a title with a familiar soundscape. The headphones reproduce subtle audio details with excellent clarity and balance, resulting in a satisfying listening experience. The headphones deliver a clean, analog, stereo signal without any artificial surround sound processing. While this provides adequate fidelity, some games benefit from the spatial awareness afforded by surround sound.<\/p>\n

Next, the microphone was tested in a moderately noisy cafe environment. The receiving party reported clear and intelligible audio transmission.<\/p>\n

In conclusion, the Epos H6PRO delivers exceptional sound quality and construction. However, the comfort level falls short of expectations, and the price represents a significant investment for wired headphones. Ultimately, the superior audio performance outweighs the drawbacks, making these wired gaming headphones a recommended option from Epos.<\/p>\n
