Encased within the titanium earcups is a 53 mm driver, marginally wider than comparable headphones. This increased width aims to enhance bass response. The included cable utilizes Audio-Technica’s proprietary A2DC connector, so care should be taken not to misplace it. The package includes two A2DC cables terminated with 3.5mm connectors (one longer, one shorter), as well as a five-pole, balanced 4.4mm cable for use with high-end audio devices that support this connection. A 6.35mm (1\/4″) adapter is also provided for connecting to full-size amplifiers.<\/p>\n

While the optimal streaming service can be debated, subtle differences may be discernible depending on the variables and steps in the audio chain.<\/p>\n

Testing the bass response with reference tracks reveals generally good performance. However, the headphones may not fully reproduce the lowest frequencies with sufficient impact, particularly with fast-paced music. Tracks with slower, sustained bass (e.g., Creeps<\/strong> Vertigo<\/em>) demonstrate the headphones’ capacity to generate a warm, resonant bass foundation. However, when confronted with faster tempos, such as metal (e.g., any song by Slayer<\/strong>) or hip-hop, the pronounced bass that some listeners prefer may be lacking. Ludacris<\/strong>‘ Red Light District<\/em> sounds airy and engaging, but the bass impact is somewhat subdued. The sound reproduction can be described as controlled and relatively neutral (characteristic of Audio-Technica), but some genres may benefit from a more pronounced low-end. The AP2000Ti may not be ideally suited for listeners prioritizing strong bass in these genres.<\/p>\n
