If, like many, you have fond memories of side-scrolling platform games from the NES, Mega Drive, or Amiga 500 era, then Blood of The Werewolf<\/strong> offers a compelling nostalgic experience. This indie title, characterized by its tight gameplay and progressively challenging difficulty, evokes both the positive and negative aspects of classic platformers.<\/p>\n

Players assume the role of Selena, driven by vengeance against Dr. Frankenstein and his monstrous creations, who murdered her husband and abducted her son. Selena and her son are the last of a lineage endowed with lycanthropic abilities. Consequently, Selena can transform during gameplay (at designated moments)<\/em> between her human form, wielding a crossbow, and her formidable Werewolf form, capable of double jumping.<\/p>\n

As a true indie endeavor, Blood<\/em> was not developed by a large team over an extended period. Priced at 7.99 Euro (approximately 72 SEK)<\/em>, it is unrealistic to expect the production value of a AAA title costing 600 SEK. The game mechanics are functional and satisfying, although they may not reach exceptional levels. The graphics are clean but relatively simple. Crucially, the game maintains a smooth feel and consistent frame rate (potentially 60 fps). The developers have also included animated cutscenes with voice acting. While the voice actors might not be A-list performers, their delivery is adequate. The game also incorporates upgrade systems and unlockable weapons, adding depth to the gameplay.<\/p>\n

However, those accustomed to platformers with significant variation and forgiving difficulty settings may find it less appealing.
