Nintendo Switch<\/strong><\/a> has enjoyed two successful years in terms of sales. While 2017 offered a plethora of acclaimed Switch titles, making 2018 a challenging follow-up, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate<\/strong> has been a highly anticipated release. Now that it’s available, does it live up to the hype? The answer is a resounding yes.<\/p>\n

Super Smash Bros.<\/em> is Nintendo’s fighting series, known for its accessibility as a social brawler with a wide roster of characters and chaotic on-screen action. However, unlike purely social experiences like Mario Kart<\/strong><\/a>, Super Smash Bros.<\/em> also boasts a competitive scene based on skill and knowledge. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate<\/em>, as its name implies, is a definitive edition, packed with content that would require an extensive analysis to fully cover. In the interest of brevity, we’ll simply state that Nintendo has delivered the best, most feature-rich, and visually impressive Super Smash Bros.<\/em> game since the GameCube era, potentially even surpassing it.<\/p>\n

These include the Belmonts from Castlevania<\/strong>, SEGA’s Sonic<\/strong>, Ryu and Ken from Street Fighter<\/strong>, Pok\u00e9mon<\/strong>, and even Joker from Persona 5<\/strong><\/a>. Weaponry consists of recognizable Nintendo items such as the Fire Flower from Super Mario Bros.<\/strong>, Pikmin<\/strong> figures, and Lip<\/strong>, all appearing as assist trophies or “Spirits.” Players can engage in battles against friends, the computer, or online opponents, and a single-player mode allows players to unlock new characters, Spirits, and weapons through an expansive adventure.
