It’s rare that I’m this disappointed with a Disney movie. R\u00f6jar-Ralf Krashar Internet<\/strong> (Ralph Breaks the Internet) had a promising trailer, which, admittedly, I watched several times in anticipation. However, the humor presented in the trailers for R\u00f6jar-Ralf Kraschar Internet<\/em> (Ralph Breaks the Internet) appears to be the extent of the film’s comedic offerings \u2013 the scenes haven’t even been shortened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"R\u00d6JAR-RALF<\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

R\u00f6jar-Ralf (Ralph) (John C. Reilly)<\/strong> and Vanilja (Vanellope) (Sarah Silverman)<\/strong>, inseparable best friends, spend all their time together. Vanellope, however, is experiencing a growing dissatisfaction with her game, finding the repetitive nature of the tracks monotonous. Ralph attempts to alleviate her boredom, but his efforts inadvertently trigger a malfunction, breaking the game’s steering wheel. With only a week to acquire a replacement, the game faces decommissioning. Coincidentally, the arcade owner installs internet access, allowing Ralph and Vanellope to venture beyond the arcade in search of the necessary controller. The situation becomes complicated when they enter the intense racing game Slaughter Race<\/strong> and encounter the formidable Shank (Gal Gadot)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The few redeeming aspects of R\u00f6jar-Ralf kraschar internet<\/em> (Ralph Breaks the Internet) include the acting performances, both from returning cast members and newcomers like Gal Gadot. The numerous references are also enjoyable, though this element alone is insufficient to sustain an entire feature film (a problem also seen in The Emoji Movie<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As previously stated, I had high expectations for this film, and my disappointment grew as R\u00f6jar-Ralf kraschar internet<\/em> (Ralph Breaks the Internet) progressed. Upon its conclusion, I felt compelled to revisit the original film to understand how the filmmakers could have deviated so significantly. The original R\u00f6jar-Ralf (Wreck-It Ralph)<\/strong> possesses a clear narrative and effective character development. Ralph and Vanellope mutually support each other, and their friendship feels genuine. In contrast, the sequel portrays Ralph with predominantly jealous, selfish, and misguided traits. The primary plot \u2013 the acquisition of the steering wheel \u2013 is resolved prematurely, with the remaining runtime dedicated to Ralph undermining Vanellope’s newfound friendship with Shank. The script lacks a cohesive direction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I initially suspected a change in directors and screenwriters, given the marked decline in quality. However, to my surprise, the same creative team remained in place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

R\u00f6jar-Ralf krashar internet<\/em> (Ralph Breaks the Internet) lacks a Swedish UHD<\/a><\/strong> release, necessitating import for those seeking that format. The Blu-ray edition offers acceptable visual quality, commensurate with upscaling and HD capabilities. The animated nature of the film eliminates concerns regarding film grain or other visual artifacts. The Dolby Digital 7.1 audio track, however, feels underwhelming. Given the film’s dynamic action, the soundstage lacked impact. In comparison, the original film’s DTS 5.1 track felt more robust in terms of bass and surround effects. Positively, the disc includes worthwhile bonus features and documentaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In conclusion, certain elements, such as the performances, moments of script-driven magic reminiscent of the first film, and entertaining references, prevent a complete dismissal. The Blu-ray edition also provides ample supplemental material. However, my overall assessment remains one of disappointment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
